Re: More problems with my EP45-UD3P

Random boot problems can be caused by a power supply that is failing.
Can you borrow a newer, good quality power supply to test with?
How old is your power supply?
What is the brand name and model number of your power supply?

With an older system there might be corrosion with electrical contacts.
Is there any corrosion on the cmos battery or in the cmos battery socket?

The cmos battery might have voltage that is too low and this might be part of the problem.

Hopefully the problem is not caused by a failing motherboard.
Are any of the screws that secure your motherboard to the computer case loose?
Have you checked to see if all of the hardware, cables and wires are fully seated and that none of the attached hardware is loose?

Were there any recent changes to your system before the first time that your system recently could not boot?

If your system is overclocked, try using standard settings for one morth or longer instead of the overclocked settings.

We need detailed information about ALL OF THE HARDWARE in your system.

We can best help you after you create a detailed hardware list in the System Specs
portion of your forum profile at the bottom of the profile page or in your forum signature.
Be sure to include brand names and model numbers.
When you are done editing or creating your hardware list, save the settings.

      @profJim

Tested on other power supply and was same, its ibox 550w.
tested voltage battery have 3 volts, how you know then its not problem of mainboard?
i cant save settings in bios when i change something its just not going to boot.
im not overlocking antything for now since my mainboard would not wake up.
from 3 days its okay he didnt turn off but when gonna turn off not gonna wake up for sometime till he gonna rest.
i saw some corrosion on metal part of battery box but its soo small..

Re: More problems with my EP45-UD3P

I need you to post your full hardware specifications in the System Specs section in your forum profile and click on the Save Changes option at the bottom of the page after you have entered all of the data. You can find the bios version number by pressing F9 at the main screen of the bios.

Install the free HWiNFO software, run this program using the display sensors option and post a screen-shot of the HWiNFO window.

Install a new motherboard battery and see if it helps. The normal battery voltage is usually higher than 3.0 volts.

Here are my HWiNFO sensor results:

Re: More problems with my EP45-UD3P

How long have you used the Xeon X5460 cpu in your motherboard?

Were there any recent hardware changes to your system before the boot problem started?

Can you test your system with a non-Xeon cpu to see if the boot problem still exists?

The only other test that might help is to boot with only one or two of the memory modules installed.

It might help to boot with different cpu cooler to make sure that the Silver Arrow's installation is not causing the problem.

Re: More problems with my EP45-UD3P

If I understand you correctly, you are booting your EP45-UD3P with a jumper block connected to the CLR_CMOS pins. Is this correct?

Did you almost break a pin in the cpu socket?

If your Xeon cpu works OK in your EP45-UD3RL there does not seem to be a problem with your modified Xeon X5460 cpu.

It is possible that your EP45-UD3P is failing due to old age.

I'm glad to hear that your EP45-UD3RL is working fine.

Re: More problems with my EP45-UD3P

HWiNFO is an excellent program for monitoring and logging detailed information about your system.

The screen-shot below is from http://forums.tweaktown.com/gigabyte...tml#post491892, post #628.

In Luke's thread his Xeon cpu core temperatures were very high in the beginning, but he finally got the temperatures somewhat lower after several tries using different methods of applying thermal grease. Later in the thread he set the TjMax value in the temperature reporting programs 15o(C) lower than the reported 100o(C) value. This did not lower his cpu core temperatures in any way, but it lowered the reported temperatures by 15o in the reporting programs. Your EP45-UD3P motherboard should run cooler and be more stable than the P35-DS3L board.

My Q9550 and Q9650 processors run much cooler than the Xeon processors that Luke used.

I was able able to help Luke with his overclock because he reported detailed information about his settings and stress test results.
Luke also provided detailed information about his problems with instability.

I recommend that you use Optimized Bios defaults but start with 8.0 x 333MHz = 2.67GHz to see if your system is stable when running Prime95 stress tests. After your system is stable you should see if your system is stable while gaming. Once your system is stable at lower cpu speeds, you can repeat the tests by gradually increasing the cpu multiplier to 8.5x followed by 9.0x, etc. after your system is stable at each new setting.

Luke's cpu core voltage was run with Load Line Calibration enabled with his EP45-UD3P setup and this meant that his core voltage was set lower than when LLC is disabled. From the information in his thread it looks like enabling LLC raises cpu core temperatures.

You said "and pc always turn off after when im turn off a game."
A good power supply will abruptly shut down if the over current protection (OCP) safety limits are exceeded.

It might help if you install a less powerful video card to see if the problem goes away during or after your gaming.

Each 6-pin video card power cable is designed to provide a maximum of 75 watts or 6.25 amps and this means that the maximum power supplied by both cables should be no more than 150 watts or 12.5 amps. This does not include the power supplied by the motherboard's pci-e socket.

If you manually enable HWiNFO sensor logging before you start to game, HWiNFO will ask you to provide the name and location of the logging file. If your system shuts down abruptly, you can later look at the saved logging file to see any or all of the sensor values while your system was running. I use the CSV saved file format so that I can easily view the log as a database file.

but my graphic card is conected by only 1 cable with 2x 6pins, not 2x cables per 6 pin, i will do that test with logging file today while playing and we will see, thanks for help

Re: More problems with my EP45-UD3P

I understand that you have one power supply cable that has two 6-pin connectors that plug into your video card.
This is a common setup that is used many low to mid range power supplies.
I don't like this one into two setup for video cards but if the power supply is designed properly and the wire gauge is sufficiently thick, then this shouldn't be a problem.

I would be concerned if the individual yellow and black 6-pin wires were hot when you touch them while your system is running.
Keep in mind that it is normal for the inside of your computer case to be in the 30o to 40o(C) temperature range or possibly a bit hotter.

It looks like your psu was originally built sometime in the 2009 to 2012 time frame and that it was sold in Eastern European countries.
