  • Gigabyte Utilities

Have always wondered about their reliability. Just finished putting a GZ Z77X UD5H system together and it went quite smoothly. Boot up times are quick but after installing the Gigabyte utilities things changed, entering the Win7 password and usually it was pretty instantaneous for win7 to load but now it took way to long. Ended up removing utilities and it was ok, now I guess I could go back to checking them out one by one but I cant be bothered.

    Anyone else notice this ?

        Re: Gigabyte Utilities

Unless things have changed, after installing ET6, it will automatically load in the background.
Right click on the ET6 task bar icon and disable auto-start.
You should manually run ET6 and close the application when you're done.

Always download the correct ET6 version for your motherboard.

explains what happened...... installed and boot was slower so after doing an overclock I ended up unclocking and removing ( temperature were in the 50's )

If I had seen your post first it would explain

I thought I had removed it...anyway installed it from the DVD and did a mild o/c which caused major problems when coming out of sleep, temps were around the 50c mark. Anyway ended up removing utilities again and did an optimized BIOS reset, lets face it, I dont need to o/c :-)

btw: how do you create a sig so you can show your setup ? I have looked but the settings are not there ?

Yes, OC & sleep are not compatible except with Ivy Bridge cpu at this time, possibly another BIOS update will fix it. I've seen other reports on OC.net of the same thing. I don't use sleep so I don't have that problem.
Did you say temps were 50c coming out of sleep???
