Basically, I asked a question and posted in the BIOS section, as it was 1 question and also the fact that nearly everyone goes in the latest BIOS section, I thought I'd ask in that thread, seemed pointless creating a thread, any way, I was looking to see if anyone had info on ultra durable 4 for x79, as humidaty protection I could do with, I'm right next to my window and its always open. I'm in the uk and humidity is bad because of constant weather change, so thr new features I could use, im getting a 3930k CPU but they don't have any of tje new boards for it, soon as i purchase a board they'll release a 2.0 version, I can see ways gonna happen, should i wait?, is imagine they will upgrade the x79 boards right? Does anyone have info on this ?

they probably will bring out further boards but that chip should work in current x79 boards just fine,same as 1155 chips will run fine in z77 boards ect,as for humidity they should be fine the mb will be inside your computer case anyway so its pretty shielded agaisnt damp/humidity,im in uk too and no issues with my pc near to the window

its up to you if you want to wait but your know what the pc market is like its constantly changing

from what ive read ultra durable 4 is just a more refined motherboard,basically its the same but with more reliability testing to make sure it doesnt fail ect

Ah,yes, it is an expensive hobby, if there isn't any new boards 2weeks from now then ill just get the g1 killer for x79 then, thanks for reply.

yeah i would wait a while if you can,i know its hard to resist the upgrade itch,but theres alot of new tech about to comeout esp ib chips/memory,idk about motherboards but you can bet there on the horizon

You know, I don't get why there wont be any hexcores for z77 anyway, seems a pointless upgrade from say, a 2700k quadcore to another quadcore just because its 3rd generation and better graphics which hardly anyone will ever use, really, it only benifets laptops, they should make a 6core so its worth the upgrade for desktops.

they want you to spend more for x79 thats why

if they bought out a hex core for z77/z68 no one would bother spending on a x79/quadcore memory motherboard

I see your point, ill give it a few more weeks, why I re think on the CPU , but I still think it will be x79.
