Detecting DRAM SIZE. 16 Gb RAM installed only 12 usable.

I' ve recently upgraded my system RAM, but when I boot it enters in a reboot cycle showing "Detecting DRAM size" and boots again three or four times.
When Windows finally boot, in propierties It sais 16 Gb RAM installed only 12 usable.

Could anybody help me?

Motherboard: GA-EX58-UD3R (rev. 1.0)
BIOS: 12r
Processor: i7 920 @2.66 Mhz
RAM: 16 Gb (4 Modules) khx1600c9d3b1 http://www.kingston.com/datasheets/KHX1600C9D3B1_4G.pdf
OS: Windows 7 64bits Ultimate.

what slots are you using?

have you tested each ram stick one by one to see they are all working? test in any white slot

I'm using all the slots (4).
Yes I've tried all the sticks one by one in slot 1, and all are working ok.

could point to bent cpu socket pins,or not enough qpi/vtt voltage

which four slots? because you would be running dual channel? i think you can run four slots in tri channel but not sure,the blue or the white ones?

I've watched the CPU Pins and didn't see any bent pin.

My mobo has only four slots, I'm using all of them.

According to the manual,it's possible to run 3-channel with four modules (http://i39.tinypic.com/s5vle9.png)

yes thats right,thers six slots though in total

what qpi/vtt and dram voltages are you using? you might need more if theres missing memory

I've watched the CPU Pins and didn't see any bent pin.

The pins are in the socket not on the CPU, but don't rush to check them, try VTT first.

I've opened the case again and took out the cpu to watch the pins (in the socket Chike ) and none of them seemed to be bent, but somehow relocating the CPU seems to made the magic, everithing is working ok, no more "Detecting DRAM size" reboots and all 16 Gb detected in Windows.
