      Re: MA790XT-UD4P dead after @bios flash !

      Sounds like your MAIN and Backup BIOS are corrupted, the only way to recover that is via soldering on a new chip, or using a special tool via DOS that flashes both BIOSes at once.

      Are you still under warranty? If you are not sure, the RMA page tells you how to check the warranty status with your serial number
      RMA

      Let me know, if you are out of warranty, then I may be able to help you still but only if you are out of warranty and unable to RMA.

        Let's wait and see . I just had a message from my friend and he said the mobo started normally with different parts !! Guess we're down to CPU or PSU then . He's coming around with some parts later this evening to check what's broken then . Patience is a virtue , not ? Cya .

          Re: MA790XT-UD4P dead after @bios flash !

          KK my friend gone home now , we found what was wrong !! Not the PSU , not the CPU , everything we tried the board booted , seems the flash actually worked in the first place !
          The only thing we didn't try so far was the memory modules . First 1 , bingo ..no boot ! Then the second 1 , again no boot ! Back to the spare module ....Boot !
          So the bios flash with the wrong chipset@bios probably overvolted the memory . Any reasonable explanation some1 ?
          So I'm rebuilding my PC now and seems like I get away cheap , only new memory . Wait a min , seems like a lifetime warranty on them . Well I can try , not ?
          Thanks to lsdmeasap and ProfJim to think along with me , and we learned something not ? DON'T USE @BIOS !!!!!! cheers .

And is running on latest bios version F8 , I'm happy !! Sometimes u need a bit of luck with things . Thx . Keep up the good work guys .

                Great to hear you solved this, and that it wasn't the board after all! Now you wont have to wait on a board RMA!

                  Re: MA790XT-UD4P dead after @bios flash !

                  Ok guys , I'm back , that's not good , it means I still have a problem ! I RMA'd the memory modules to OCZ , so far great service like Wazza300 said earlier . Welll they returned the modules after 1 week for this reason ;
                  quote "We have received the memory and after testing it proved to be fully functional.
                  Passed 3 full runs of memtest . We will ship this memory back to you." ????? WTF !
                  Ok I receive the modules , put them in my PC ---> no post , no boot as before !!!
                  I sent a mail to this guy from OCZ , twice , no answer . Any1 of U guys here got any idea what is wrong with the mobo after succesfull bios flash to F8 version ? Could it be there is a change in voltage after the flash ? Anyone ?
                  I got these settings in the bios now
                  Dram config
                  CPU host clock Control (auto) 200MHz
                  Set memory clock (auto) X6.66 1333
                  DCT’s mode Unganged
                  DDR3 Timing Items (auto) SPD auto
                  DDR3 1.5V ---> 1.616 V
                  I got no clue , is this good or bad ? It worked fine before and OCZ says they work fine now , except in my PC !

                    Re: MA790XT-UD4P dead after @bios flash !

                    Problems began after BIOS flash, have you tried flashing the BIOS you have used before?

                    Before you do set memory clock and timings, and voltage manually to run at DDR-1333, and then install the new modules.
