  • EP45 ACHI DVD drive problem

    I have an EP45 UD3R motherboard -

I want to swicth to SATA ACHI mode -

When I make the change in the BIOS the computer will not start and wants to do a repair install -

During POST the DVD drive (NEC 3500A) shows up in green type indicating an error (?)

I am guessing the DVD drive being an IDE drive is causing the problem?

Do I need a special driver to get the DVD drive to be recognized in ACHI mode?

Or is there another issue going on?

Not sure what do you mean apear green during post. Do you set AHCI or RAID mode?
Are you trying to install a new OS (and which) or do you want to switch for installed OS(and which)?
What BIOS version istalled on the MB?
