Signs I need a new GA-P55-USB3 (rev. 2.0) Mobo??

Hello.

My USB3 external WD drive now causes blue screen crash when plugging in. And my new WD internal Sata drive keeps showing up in disk manager as unallocated after reboot. I allocate it & create volume & its showing in my Comp, but no longer after reboot.

Can you please advise on what I should do?

have you tried with a new mb/cmos battery? tried removing mb battery overnight then load optimized defaults and see if the problems continue? using latest mb drivers and bios? tested with a different brand of hdd?

Only tried removing the battery for 15 20mins, ill try overnight. It also happens with some other samsung brand of HD. Its like a hit & miss.

I downloaded the latest mb drivers and bios, but not sure if its risky to flash my bios?

its safe aslong as you flash using qflash,if you really have to use @bios make sure its the latest version,you might have to use @bios for the modern bios's as they wont flash with qflash due to the new 3tb support or something along those lines,once flashed and updated though you can again continue to flash with qflash,
