So how come I can not DL the same file? Just tonight, I tried and it gave me this error in the SS.
Maybe its my Internet Explorer security settings,I will recheck ASAP. Igoogled and found a fix at microsoft.com, it was an automated fix of the registry, can DL now.

Here are some results from Memtest86+ ver4.20 included in GRUB version 1.99 which ran all night with no errors on test #5d.

To ProfJim: Thanks for the info I applied the check mark. May run prime 95 again.

      Re: GA-EP45-DS3R and Core 2 Quad Q8200

It looks like an internet timeout error, i.e. their website didn't respond in a timely manner.
It might be due to high demand on their site or extremely low download speeds on your end.
Can you try using a different browser?

When you report test results, good or bad, let us know what memory settings and voltages you used, including MCH Core voltage.
It would help if you include a screen shot with Memset and ET6 --> TUNER tab --> ADVANCE tab --> VOLTAGE tab immediately after the test to confirm your current test settings.

Ya it was a timeout error and I found a fix on microsoft.com, works like a charm now.
Memory and voltage settings are the same as before. Ya will use memset and ET6

If Prime95 fail, set MCH Core to 1.16v and test again, keep increasing up to 1.24v while still failing.
If you know the FFT size that fail, you can save time and customize the test to run this FFT only by setting both min and max FFT sizes to that value.
If last failing value pass for 2 times, run normal(non-customized) blend again.

Chike said to adjust as follows my MCH core and retest with prime 95, however I have trouble setting P95 so far. As long as I have online account I can run P95 with any settings. I tried and will try again to use plain P95(no account) Have run P95 all night last. I have ss of temps they are 68-69 max on core #0. I have room temp gauge reading 80 degrees F (sorry no C readings on this gauge). This seems high I know we are having a warm spell now in So Cal...Will reset MCH core to 1.16 and try to test again. Will google about changing FFT size thanks.

          Re: GA-EP45-DS3R and Core 2 Quad Q8200

You don't need to "run" Prime95, only the torture tests which require no account.
When you start it and you have no account, the torture window open.
If it run at windows logon disable it (uncheck Start at logn, under options menu).
Or you can start a torture by sekecting "Torture test..." under options.

80F is 26.6C, not the coolest temp but Intel's cooling spec are designed to up to 38C.
It may be the cooler or thermal paste or case cooling.

Wgat about the E8400. are you going to OC it or not?

Only test that will run (without account) is this test with large FFTs. All other tests start and stop, is this not a trouble sign? Not running at startup.
Temp this morning is 62 F with some windows open.
The E8400 I had running OCd for a while but never finalized my settings and was told that some settings were on auto, which hurts performance. Will give it a try this weekend :)

              Re: GA-EP45-DS3R and Core 2 Quad Q8200

Of course, we run Prime95 to test stability, test failure or crash indicates instability.
Run small FFT first for at least 2 hours, customize it to run each FFT size 12 minutes so it's 6 tests per hours instead of 5.
Post a picture of the failure or crash. In case of crash show details.

                Re: GA-EP45-DS3R and Core 2 Quad Q8200

Why are you using 4 torture test threads with a dual core cpu? Set it to 2.
Are you running the 32-bit version of Prime95 with winXP?
Are you running the v26.6 build 3 version?
What exactly does "start and stop" mean? Immediate errors? Something else?

here is a ss ProfJim. Short on time this morning. have Dld the most current version I think, for 32 bit system. The errors say "error allocating memory for FFT data" in this ss.

What test have you ran, Blend?
Open Task Manager(right click the taskbar and select "Start Task Manager"), click performance tab, see ho much available memory there is. This value minues 50-100MB is max you should set in "Memory to use (MB)", if blend set it to more click customize and set it manually.

A strong cup of coffee is needed, you just a bit confused of all the signatures, the original thread title is "GA-EP45-DS3R and Core 2 Quad Q8200" and that is what being tested, sorry for creating confusion when asking about the E8400.

Hi Chike guess I have to follow the instructions found in the readme. Sorry for my mistake as I have not used PCs all my life like some young people growing up nowadays. :) Here is instructions that I found ......

                              MANUAL METHOD INSTRUCTIONS
                              --------------------------
                              1) Visit PrimeNet - Account to create a userid for yourself and
Manual Assignment - PrimeNet to get an exponent or two to
work on. Copy these exponents to a file called worktodo.txt.
                              2) Run prime95.exe. You will see 3 dialog boxes:
2a) In the welcome dialog box, choose "Join GIMPS!".
2b) In the second dialog box, fill in roughly how many hours a day you leave
                              your computer running. Click OK.
2c) In the third dialog box, uncheck "Use PrimeNet to get work and report
                              results", click OK.
                              3) Disable screen savers or use the "blank screen" screen saver. If this
is not practical, consider raising prime95's priority to 4 or 5.
                              4) When done with your exponents, use the web pages again to send the
file "results.txt" to the PrimeNet server and get more work.

The "Start at Bootup" menu choice (on by default) will run prime95
every time you boot your computer. The "Start at Bootup" choice
became "Start at Logon" starting with Windows Vista.
UPDATE: Still having trouble running the tests so I am checking for errors in my work.
1 wanted to check and Download the latest version for my particular system Win XP 32bit, but IE was still having problems. I decided to reset IE8 to default settings, done. After failing to download P95 yet again I installed getright download helper. Finally got the download to work and have the v27.3 build 1 installed and running. I choose to round off checking as ProffJim suggested and tried to run. I choose the large in place FFTs option 2 and it ran. Still testing at the moment BTW. Not sure what effect my AV program has on all this but I will investigate as soon as have time to read thruogh the manual.
Will report any updates as needed. Still running all same settings and 2 sticks of ram in default slots. will change ram to other slots later as well....coffee time Guys
Trying to run Prime 95 without the account and do a torture test as advised. The first test ran and then stopped with a error (see screenshot) I tried to get the report results by opening the link and saw that there is a file containing a report as well. Can not find the report just yet.
Also checking if windows needs any updates as well. Windows only needed non critical updates (some were recommended by MS) there is a hardware driver needed for my lan but thats not relevent here.
Prime95 update: P95 ran for three hours this afternoon with a max temp on C#0 of 75 C. There were no errors to report other than the one this afternoon.
Memory was swapped to the slots colored in
REDThats where they will stay for a few hours more then I will try one stick at a time. all memory setting are the same and BIOS settings are the same. Will post a screenie soon.

Hope this helps anyone else out there trying to run Prime 95...
