  • Need help with GIGABYTE GA-EP43T-USB3 (RAM)

I bought this motherboard 3 months ago. Two weeks before I suddenly noticed that my DDR3 1333 BUS ram is working in 1066. I tried every possible way for 1333 but I couldn't do it. Please please, can anyone help? I asked a lot of people but they couldn't solve it..

    Config:
    Core 2 Quad Q6600
4 GB DDR3 RAM (1333 BUS) Silicon Power
    GIGABYTE GA-EP43T-USB3
    Samsung 1 TB

Re: Need help with GIGABYTE GA-EP43T-USB3 (RAM)

With default 266MHz FSB DDR-1066 is the maximum possible.
To run the memory at DDR-1333 at leat 333MHz FSB is required, and a slight overclock of the CPU.
Please attach a text report of CPU-Z (about tab), you cam download it from http://forums.tweaktown.com/gigabyte...ity-tools.html

Re: Need help with GIGABYTE GA-EP43T-USB3 (RAM)

I have never overclocked anything processor or ram although I know about them. So I have very little practical knowledge about them. I have attached the text file. You have to tell me in details if it is possible for you. And thanx a lot Chike...

        The memory SPD
JEDEC timings table CL-tRCD-tRP-tRAS-tRC @ frequency
        JEDEC #1 6.0-6-6-17-23 @ 457 MHz
        JEDEC #2 7.0-7-7-20-27 @ 533 MHz
        JEDEC #3 8.0-8-8-22-30 @ 609 MHz
        JEDEC #4 9.0-9-9-25-34 @ 685 MHz
I Would begin with profile #3, ram at 1216 with timings 8-8-8-22 and max CPU at 2432MHz (minimal OC)
Load optimized defaults and try the following changes:

It's recommanded to run memtest86+ before starting windows, also 6+ hours of Prime95 blend torture.

Thnx a lot Chike specially for this detail process. I got the best response from you. 'It's recommanded to run memtest86+ before starting windows, also 6+ hours of Prime95 blend torture.' do I really have to do that? Because I am no expert in them. Whatevr it is, I will try your method without this two and get back to you.. And thnx again...

Re: Need help with GIGABYTE GA-EP43T-USB3 (RAM)

Those are just to make sure the settings are stable. They may or may not be stable, better to know it and try to stabilize them instead waiting for random crashes.

EDIT: memtest is easy to install on a bootable USB flash druve, and Prime95 is even easier to run.
