I don't know that ram so I cant say,I can't see why it wouldn't work though aslong as its 1.5v or 1.65v rated memory,when you have your motherboard running I can try and help you overclock,what speed would you want to clock too?

Hitachi 7200c 1 tb

Can you advise me what to read to begin to understand i7 OC? I have read soomeethings but seems more difficult than with the quad core (my actul pc Q9650).

The mushkin ram is the best choice,its fairly simple to overclock,just set your cpu voltage,dram voltage for your ram and set qpi/vtt voltage for the memory controller inside the cpu,everything else is fine on auto settings,you can set ram speed and timings yourself

Yes high oc and memory speeds are difficult with 12gb,you would be better buying 6 2gb sticks in a matching 12gb kit,or go for a 6gb kit,I hardly ever use all if my ram,games run fine with 6gb so its up to you,look on tweaktown/gigabyte ex58 ocing guide

6GB will be best, unless you specifically need 12GB. If you do need 12GB, then any 12GB kit should run at stock rated voltages just fine
