Hi all, first post here. I have the UD3 board, not functional yet as I'm waiting on CPU/RAM to be delivered.
Can anyone tell me if either DTS Connect or DTS Interactive is enabled with this MOBO?
    Thanks.

    Re: GA-P67-UD3 Realtek onboard audio

It depends on what revision of the board you get it looks like

1.0 - Realtek ALC892 DTS connect, DTS, ect
    GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket 1155 - GA-P67A-UD3 (rev. 1.0)

    1.1 - Realtek ALC889 DTS only
    GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket 1155 - GA-P67A-UD3 (rev. 1.1)

And what I've found, just looking in google as I am not an audiophile, is this:
ALC892 supports the streaming of the new lossless multichannel codecs like Dolby True HD and DTS HD - Dolby True HD and DTS HD functions Via HDMI 1.3 and ALC892 uses S/PIDF, so only some DTS features may be possible with 892

You can read more on each here, but to be honest I am not sure about any of this, so you may need to wait for others to reply
    892
    Realtek

    889
    Realtek

You can ask here, and they will reply with a for sure answer, but it may take them 3-5 days to reply if they are very busy

      Thanks for replying, Lsdmeasap.
Hmm. I didn't realize they changed the codec on the Rev 1.1 board (what I have).
It appears DTS Connect is software based, hadn't noticed that before. I guess I'll know whether Gigabyte includes that when I get my build up and running in a few days.
Anyway, thanks again! Interesting user name, BTW.

Anytime man, sorry I couldn't give you a more direct answer about that!

I have that some codec on the board I have running right now, is there some way I can test something in the software for you? I don't have S/PDIF or anything I can connect audio HMDI to, but I can look in the software for settings/info for you no problem.

          Re: GA-P67-UD3 Realtek onboard audio

I guess I'll know soon as my CPU, RAM etc is arriving today so hopefully soon I'll be able to dig into it. I'm mainly concerned as I have MCH audio connections to my "pc" receiver and to my HT in another room and it's just simpler to use SP/DIF for the long run to the HT.
To do that I've been using a Creative DTS-610 but would be nice to eliminate it.

Further confusing is I downloaded the spec sheet for the 889 codec and it seems there are two different chipsets with one including DTS Connect & DD.

BTW this will be my first pc build in a loooooong time and I'm looking forward to getting this build up and going.
          FWIW, here's the build specs;

Cool, well good luck with the build once the parts arrive, and I hope the software has what you needed!

Build specs look good man! Why two DVD burners?

              Re: GA-P67-UD3 Realtek onboard audio

Thank you. It's running very well and so far only a single beep every startup.
(well the 212+ was a kind of a PITA) Still on the F2 BIOS with no problems.
System runs very cool with the HAF 922 stock fans and the 212+ (I haven't done any overclocking)
The only issue I have is the optical sp/dif out is wonky. I've tried updated codecs from both Gigabyte and Realtek but no joy.
Reason for 2 burners is I seem to go through them pretty quick, and I like to have one dedicated for ripping and one for burning. Plus they are so cheap these days.

Nice to hear all went smoothly with the build man!

I'd get off the F2 BIOS for sure, and once you do flash the backup BIOS to match the main.

Haha, ya burners have been getting really cheap, I see what you mean there for sure as I recently had a fairly new one die on me too (Kept killing disks, couldn't burn bootable but others were fine, ect?)

                    Re: GA-P67-UD3 Realtek onboard audio

Ya, @BIOS will be fine for the first flash, you might have to use it anyway due to BIOS size change, so might as well go ahead with that.

Check the Clear DMI box before you flash, and do the flash with "From Saved File" using a BIOS you have already downloaded and extracted.

If you do not have a B3 board, then the latest BIOS is F7e, which is linked below

Or here is F6 for Rev. 1.1 just to be sure.
                          GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket 1155 - GA-P67A-UD3 (rev. 1.1)

I think you do have a B2 board right? Sorry then, ya I remember you saying you had rev. 1.1 now that I see that page at Gigabyte site.

If you download from Gigabyte site directly you need to only extract the file once, and then you should have a BIOS file (board name.Fxx), a batch file, and a flash tool. All you select in @BIOS is the actual BIOS file.

Also, be sure you are using the very latest @BIOS, uninstall the old version before you install the new one, you can get the latest here

The file I'm trying to load is p67aud3.f6, right? It says BIOS partnumber not correct.
Sorry, I did update @BIOS as well. Work with me and we'll get me straightened out.

Any reason he shouldn't use the "GA-P67A-UD3- B3 - F3" bios instead of the older F6 (also used by 1.0 boards?) from gigabytes site?

I mean you link to the beta bios if he has the 1.0 board but not if he has the newer 1.1 board that logically could use the beta bios more?

Or are the F3 beta bios simply F6 with some not necessary "tweaks"?
