Destop Hangs on the OS

SEQUENCE OF EVENTS
Press front power switch -->
Fans start, computer beeps once, kbd LEDs flash once, front power LED is lit, Startup screen appears on monitor.

Press DEL very quickly -->
"Prepare to Enter Setup..." message appears on screen, then computer appears to hang. (If I don't press DEL quickly enough, the computer hangs at the normal Startup screen and no Prepare to Enter Setup message is shown.)


INVESTIGATION
Using a different keyboard and different mouse (which work fine with another PC) made no difference. Next I checked the cable connections to the motherboard, no obvious problems there.


I just recently bought my destop sice 2009 and i never opened it since now. Guys help me with this problem! please

It worked before, can you enter in BIOS?
More details about your computer please. Motherboard, memory, hdd etc

You can try to Clear CMOS or remove battery from motherboard for few seconds.

I am unsure on your comments, did you buy this in 2009 but never use it until now?
