  • EP45-UD3P, stability gone over time

I found out Prime95 is laughing in the face of my back then rock stable setup. I am not having any crashes even while gaming though, but still it sucks and I want to do something about it, at least a little. It's mostly my custom Blend-like test (more memory, higher min FFT size; works pretty well) that doesn't last even close to one hour. In fact, it fails pretty fast.
    Few tech facts first:
    E8400
EP45-UD3P r1.0 board with custom F11d BIOS (it has those updated ROMs)
2x2GB of Corsair memory (C8500D series I believe)

This used to be (one of) the stable setup I worked on for weeks back in um.. it's like 1.5 years I think:

I did some quick experimenting and did get a bit more stable, but didn't have time to do it properly yet.
    What do you think?
Having to enable LLC kinda disturbs me. I tried going one step down with VCORE and noo way, epic blendfail straight away.
The memory is pretty good though, it passes MemTest+ allright with this voltage and timings (auto adv. timings are 4-4-8-68-4 in the page order; keep in mind I only played around with them to have some specific values instead of auto, I am sure I could go lower), so the problem really lies in the board probably being close to or right at the FSB limit. But I am no expert on this.

This setup passed about 10 hours of my Blend test.
So, do you think I should go down with frequency, or not bother at all (I will be getting Sandy Bridge some time this year, depending on how impressed I will be with the boards and their features available) since it's not likely to die?

Re: EP45-UD3P, stability gone over time

Even more weird, despite MemTest passing well and Prime holding on for hours, I started to get totally random and frequent explorer crashes, BSODs, gaming freezes and whatever. Jeez. What damn voodoo this is :/
