Could be your psu aswell,I've used other psu's where the noise doesn't happen, xonar is a good card but your forever tweaking settings to get best sound when switching from music/games/films ect, onboard sound is just as good and you don't have to keep messing,it should auto detect your gpu, just set first initial display as pci-e slot that your gpu is plugged into

Do your speakers pop when you flick the light switch? Mine do,or you speaking about mb interference noise? Disabling c1e fixes it for me and using balanced power profile in Windows

I still had the noise using the xonar soundcard too,so an add in card didn't stop the noise

It should auto detect sli/xfire or single card, set pci-e to the slot your gpu is plugged into

I know this is an old thread but.. I have this same mobo and had the same problem my computer would even short out if I used any other port besides the headphone jack. I dealt with it for a few months, annoying as it was, trying everything to fix it. This is how I totally eliminated the static noise problem and the short:

I opened my computer up, blew out all the dust, took a clean paintbrush to the dust that I couldn't blow out and found one very tight screw that was holding my mobo to the case and loosened it and all the other mounting screws to be finger tight.

The static went away, no more shorts. Same Motherboard as you.

Re: Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R (Rev. 2.0) - Realtek ALC889 Static and Noise Issue

Interesting, I wonder if the extra tight screw compressed together some of the multiple layers of the mother board, and somehow caused a partial short circuit between ground layers on the board. The screw itself could be the source of the short circuit. Or the standoff between the board and the screw pressed into the board with the same result.

I've recently seen screws included with PC cases meant to secure the mother board to the brass standoffs, that were painted or coated in a black substance. Meaning they were insulated, or at least until the coating wore off. So much for the screw being a conductor for a ground path for the board, or are the PC case manufactures that stupid. Or does that not matter.
