are you missing memory? if not then its probably not enough dram voltage as they are rated at between 1.5-1.75v or its the type/brand of memory itself not suited to this mb,try with 1.7v for dram and test with cold boot again

When I first received the computer from Cyberpower it was missing RAM on cold boots, it would show 4GB as hardware reserved. Then once computer was warm and rebooted it would find all 6 GB. To get all the RAM to appear in windows I had to change the bios settings. Now I am having the stability issues on cold boot. The CMOS has been resetting with battery out for last 30 minutes, will retest now with load optimized defaults, then edit bios settings and change dram 1.7v

Re: GA-X58A-UD3R - SSD + HDD - cold boot issues

Well the CMOS reset definitely changed something as the computer now boots in about 20 seconds, where it used to take almost 2 minutes. Although running a new windows score assessment it shutdown like before (ie complete power down) at the disk assessment part of the test.

Changed DRAM to 1.64V and ran the windows score test again, ran the full test fine, although the computer was warm at that point from running about 5 minutes. Cooling the computer down for a cold boot test now...

On cold boot the computer shutdown on the disk assessment part of the windows performance score test for the 2nd time, could this be a Corsair SSD drive / driver issue?

Sounds like similar problem to mine:

I am using the lastest fc1 bios.

Looking at the GB website: GA-X58A-UD3R (rev. 2.0) - GIGABYTE
The lastest sata3 drivers are - Marvell console driver (sata3) 1.0.0.1027 dated 11/10/09

I believe that is the driver I see on boot up. Will check and report back. Here is a drivermax screen shoot showing what it recommends for updates:

Will try performing the updates shown

Why does autoplay popup for my 1 TB storage drive labeled D:? After I changed to AHCI interface it seems like Autoplay pops up whenever I access D:, any ideas?

Also I updated all drivers from Gigabyte website.

Cold boot this morning with updated drivers = power shutdown after clicking okay to login password
Then decided to switch the SATA port connections: Moved the 1 TB drive to the SATA2 side so that I am not using the SATA3 controller. New connections:
                      Intel controller
                      SATA2_0 - SSD drive (Windows 7 Pro 64bit)
                      SATA2_1 - WD 1TB storage drive SATA3, 6 GB/s, 7200rpm
                      SATA2_2 - Empty
                      SATA2_3 - Empty
                      SATA2_4 - Sony DVD
                      SATA2_5 - Empty

                      Marvell controller
                      SATA3_6 - Empty
                      SATA3_7 - Empty
SATA3_8 - eSATA port on top of CM case
SATA3_9 - eSATA port on top of CM case

Ran another cold boot, running the windows experience score test the computer crashed during the memory performance test. Any ideas?

Also here is another computer experiencing the same problems I have: CyberPower Forum: Missing memory and BSOD

would be good if you had another set of memory to try like corsair for example, then you would know for sure if it was the memory,

I find it interesting that in the link I posted (CyberPower Forum: Missing memory and BSOD), this computer has the same gigabyte motherboard, same i7 950, same Corsair SSD (except mine is 80gb vs 60gb, but same otherwise), and the problem description with steps to fix are the same I have experienced. Also that computer was running Corsair memory.

I probably need to start contacting Cyberpower as I am out of ideas and do not have any spare RAM to try.

i dont know what it could be,if your missing ram then check for bent cpu socket pins very carefully, again it could be ram not compatible with that bios or maybe same thing with your ssd its hard really to point to exactly whats causing it,if its under warranty with them then ask them to check it over and explain whats happening

Did some extensive RAM testing today all on cold boots using fc1 bios:

                              Running one module at a time - settings - load optimized defaults - DRAM = 1.64V, QPI/vtt = 1.315V, 9-9-9-24, Mem speed = 12x (1600MHz)
                              module#1 - crashed 50% of time
                              module#2 - crashed 30% of time
                              module#3 - crashed 100% of time

                              Running one module at a time - settings - load optimized defaults{which equals DRAM = 1.5V, QPI/vtt = 1.175V, Memspeed = 8x (1066MHz)} - 9-9-9-24
                              module#1 - passed 100% of time
                              module#2 - passed 100% of time
                              module#3 - passed 100% of time

Running all three modules - settings - load optimized defaults - 9-9-9-24
Crashed 100% of time + got BSOD all three times
                              1st try - crashed - BSOD - memory management
auto reboot - crashed - BSOD - system service exception
auto reboot - crashed - BSOD - page fault in nonpaged area
                              I turn off computer

Note 1: I nevered received a BSOD of death during any of the tests running one module. The crashes always occured either starting a program or during the memory test portion of the microsoft experience score test.
Note 2: The RAM does not appear to perform at 1600MHz even though the sticker on the RAM indicates that it should

Ran the test for all three modules again, but first I went into bios and reloaded the optimized defaults then set the ram timing to 9-9-9-24
                                1st try - passed
                                2nd try - passed
                                3rd try - passed

                                passed = stable
