Re: X58A-UD3R - Random but frequent reboots

Question - I did start messing with SiSoft Sandra and while the screen was mostly frozen during the Arythmetic test, the PC started doing an odd 'beeping/buzzing sound', but not steady. It happened for about 10 seconds, and I just powered down the system. Is that the CPU overtemp warning? When I rebooted into the BIOS, the CPU temp was 71, and the warning is set at 90C. Just wasn't sure what the motherboard does when you get a real warning? I'm thinking I need a better CPU cooler at this point.

Yes, that was probably your CPU temp getting too hot. So sounds like you may need a better cooler, what are you using now?

Stock fan. Still looking for good suggestions that absolutely fit on this board, is fairly quiet, and runs under $50.

Ahh ya stock one is terrible, anything would be better.

Sorry I can't really advise though as I use water myself. I know ThermalRight and Thermolab's work great, and are usually about that price, but you would need to see if they will fit in your case.
