Please Help with my Overclock i7 950 UD3R

Hi.

Im having a nightmare trying to clock my system at the moment. I have reduced my memory to 6x multi to take that out of the problem.

Currently testing on prime at 182x22 4004ghz
Target 1.375v CPUZ says 1.312v!!!!!! ( i hope thats not accurate cus thats crap droop)
QPIVTT 1.375v

Ram running 1.65v as per sticks 9-9-9-24 XMP - but reduced in speed for now.

MY temps are worrying since they seem to hit 80c all the time right from 1.3v to 1.375 in the bios. god knows what the real volts are. i have heard LLC causes more problems than heals so i left it off.

I dunno why this CPU needs so much volts or gets so hot i think its either a dog or the mobo just isnt stable.

try with an odd cpu multi like 21x or 23x some chips run better on odd ones and use less voltage,as for xmp try disabling it and set all memory speed/timings manually,you may need alot of qpi/vtt to run at 2000mhz,personally i would run at 1800 or 1866mhz,try around 1.35000v qpi

Well im in prime95 now and this is the longest i got without BSOD.

i caused a BSOD much earlier on by trying to run Easytune while it was priming and that caused BSOD so i wasnt sure if it was my system or just me clicking ET6.

i have tried different multis i tried 23 and it didnt seem any better it still BSOD.

how do i know how much vore im using when bios says 1.375 and CPUID says 1.312?

are you looking at cpu-z when testing under load? if so it may be cos of vdroop,download the latest easytune it shouldnt affect anything when testing,and look in easytune/tuner/advance/voltage one to see all the correct voltages under the target column



blue screen error codes are 101 not enough cpu voltage and 124 not enough qpi/vtt voltage

Yes but Target voltage is just my bios setting and not actualy whats being pushed through the CPU. which currently looks like 1.312 vs 1.1375 which is my Target. thats 0.063 volts under.

what are you clocked at? 4ghz? if so then its on account of vdroop which is normal,you can either enable llc or raise cpu voltage slightly to compensate for it

did you disable all c states in advanced cpu features? that might be affecting things

they save power by reducing cpu speed/voltage when at idle

Memory at 1750mhz 88820 1.65v

31k 3d mark Vantage.

keep testing with lower voltages now and see if it remains stable,qpi/vtt is fine but try lowering cpu voltage? are you setting dram voltage to 1.66v?

those voltages look ok though but you could try and lower the cpu v

How did you manage to get 31k with Vantage with those two cards at only 4ghz o/c? Most tests are at 25k MAX and that's with oc cards also.....

I am scared to move the volts down since this is the first stable OC i have managed to get and play games on. 4ghz 1750mhz ram 8-8-8-20 Ram.

its 1.326 volts in CPUID which isnt to bad since the stock volts aren't that much lower on the 950.

Great support you got here btw, remind me never to buy Corsair ram again though they haven't even replied since sunday day time its now tuesday.

whats up with corsair ram? are you dealing with the shop you bought the ram from? or them direct?

i posted a support thread on their site and never got a reply for 2 days. ram wouldnt work at rated speeds and i needed help with bios settings.

after 2 days of fiddling myself i finally got it working.

ill buy OCZ next time since they have been better at supporting when there are issues
