X58A-UD3R with i7 930

Couple of issues I'm having. Worth noting that I currently don't have an OS installed on this pc.

1. When I turn on the PC I get the DDR LEDs light up... I'm assuming this is a configuration change that needs to be done in the BIOS?

2. The CPU fan is sometimes making a 'ticking' sound when the case is vertically standing. When I lay it on its side it goes back silent. I have just taken the heatsink off and attached it again, and it went away, but I'm thinking it'll happen again.

3. After a few seconds the DDR LEDs will turn off, but as they do the Phase LED's flicker once. Sometimes when I start up they're on constant like the DDR LED's. Is this a BIOS change that needs to be made?

All LED's turn off after a few seconds.

its normal for all the mb led's to stay lit untill it cycles through the bios then they go out and it boots into windows,have you got everything connected up like hdd,dvd drive,gpu? tried installing win7?? try disabling floppy drives from the hdd boot order and from the bios,disable drive A too,and install ram in the white slots only

if your fans ticking then its catching on something check it,or let it warm up and it might go away,if not then try and see where its catching or replace it

I don't have a dvd/floppy drive installed. All memory is in the white slots.

Only the ddr led's come on during post and they show different colours (red, orange, green), there's four of them.

Unfortunately can't install OS at the moment.

its normal for them to come on at start up,they go out when os is loaded,disable floppy drives even if you dont have them installed as it can sometimes affect the os install

no os installed because of problems or you dont have it yet?

Ok it just seemed strange it was only the drr lights, although sometimes the CPU LED's came on as well. Is it generally only an issue if they stay on?

I need to buy a new monitor before I can install my OS.

they will stay on if your just entering the bios,but when it loads windows they all go out except for one green light by the ram and northbridge and the blue cpu lights will light up depending how high your overclocked
