do you think is fair to have an rufurbished MB that I've paid 300 dollars for?

I've RMA'ed my Corsair PSU once and only took 2 days to get a Brand new in a box PSU

I think you'll find they repair motherboards, rather then refurbish them. Refurb HDDs are pretty standard for failed drive returns though. I've RMA'ed new Seagate and Western Digital HDDs and they come back as refurbs, not new drives. PSUs are replace for new, cause they aren't worth repairing and can't be resold cause if it kills someones PC, they're in big trouble. Memory is cheap as chips, so its always new. KB and Mouse are new returns, Video cards are refurbs, DVD drives aren't worth the RMA, monitors are extremely interesting cause they depend on the brand (Samsung rock, the rest - meh). CPUs - I'll find out about soon.

it depends on the repair whether they send a refurbed or repair it,for me they repaired the cpu socket,either way you will have a working mb and it will still remain in warranty

they wont send you a new board if they have refurbished ones ready and waiting on the shelf,they will do the same thing with your broken mb they will refurb it and send it to someone else if needed

They may do advanced RMA for you, with a charge to your card until you return the other board. Have you called in and asked about that?

Not sure if they do this or not, but it would be worth asking directly if you can't wait 2 weeks or so for a RMA.
