  • EP43-UD3L Rev 1.2 - Radeon 5750 No Signal...

Been having this issue where my Sapphire HD 5750 won't give me a signal on my
EP43-UD3L, or my P35-DS3L. I've seen this issue all over with other boards and chipsets
seems its mostly resolved by a bios update....Anyone know of this?
Also getting error beeps 1 long 2 short (video)
    and sometimes
4 beeps, followed by the post beep? what the...

Currently on the EP43 - using F9 bios
    2GB OCZ PC2 8500 Crossfire Edition
    Intel E7200 2.53GHz
Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 5750 1GB (test and works on other system)
Tried 2 monitors, both are hooked up VGA to DVI adapter
    Tried changing PCI-E frequency to 100Mhz -> 105MHz

hmmm didn't see that as an option in the bios...It's just the PCI-E slot, figured it'd automatically use it.

              Re: EP43-UD3L Rev 1.2 - Radeon 5750 No Signal...

1 PCI-E slot, it's set to PEG in the bios, all cables are secure, card is seated properly and screwed in. 6-pin power cable is secure. There is no onboard VGA. Now my Power Supply isn't the best, Enermax Tomahawk ETK405AST 12v1 17amps 12v2 17amps (total of 25 then). You'd think this card being a lower power consumer it would post with just the CPU and 1 stick of ram, but no deal.

I've seen loads of posts on people having the same issue, no signal...Most of them just downloaded a bios update and it was fixed...But this motherboard isn't that old, you'd think it'd work fine...

if f9 is the latest bios for that board, then you need to email gigabyte support and ask them for a custom bios, tell them the model of gpu and your mb and they should be able to send you one
did you try with the four pin molex adaptor that came with the card? it splits it into a six pin power plug, try that and see maybe it isnt powerfull enough on the original six pin

it can only be the bios, either on the gpu or the mb,who said they fixed it with a bios update? anyway you can get them to forward you that bios? only other way is to put in a report to gigabyte and see what they say, also look on the gpu manufacturers website maybe they have a graphics card bios update that fixes it

I've seen lots of threads on the ATI/AMD forums where people fixed similar issues with a bios update for the motherboard. A lot of people had problems with it with older mobos too, specifically PCI-E 1.0

I already contacted tech support so hopefully they'll get back to me soon.

Yes the GPU has been tested, it works. I had it in with another PCI video card, hmmm it
does the error beeps, this time it did 1 really long one followed by 3 long beeps. then a short beep like you get when the computer starts properly.

So I let it sit for a while and switched over to the PCI, it shows the windows login.....
Maybe its a power issue or something then.

Do you have you motherboard manual, if so it will list the most common error codes in the toubleshooting section see if its in there. 1 long and 3 short is no video or bad video ram. the next "1 beep", is the error continuous?

Nope it just does it once and the computer seems to start booting.
And just read other people have been using this video card with the P35 chipset, so there's no reason this one wouldn't work.
I guess it's down to the Power Supply then...But would lack of power cause the error beeps?
