Missing capacitor on GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3R

I was replacing my Geforce 8800 gtx with a new Radeon HD 5850 on my GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3R. Unfortunately when trying to get the 8800 out I knocked a diode/capacitor (not sure which one) from the mother board. The machine seems to be running fine but I want to know what this is and what it does. It is the one marked below with red arrows.



Do I need to replace the board? Thanks!!

i think you might be ok,has it left two pins sticking out where the capacitor was? you could get it repaired if its under warranty

Yes it does still have the pins. It seems to be running fine though.

will it push back onto the pins? mybe a very tiny amount of superglue would glue it back onto the pins

I may have to try that, or even a small amount of solder. I think it is effecting performance as well. When I play starcraft 2 it stutters horribly and loads levels very slow. Would that cause it? Unless there is a driver issue with the Radeon 5850 that I don't know about. It's strange because Bad Company 2 runs flawlessly.

i dont think it would affect anything,probably driver related because it would do it in everygame if it was the capacitor,and yh solder if your handy with a soldering iron but a tiny drop of superglue at the base of the prongs or capacitor itself would do the trick,aslong as the pins make contact inside the capacitor it should work fine

Did you test with your old card to be sure the issues you are seeing are not just due to the new card?

You could RMA if you need to, I think they would be fine to replace that for you if you can't yourself. Are the pins sticking out of the board, or the capacitor?
