I try to hold off as long as I can before upgrading. my last pc lasted for 6 years using a Pent. 4 socket 478 w/geforce 7800 (agp)
My upgrade wasn't much of an upgrade I kind of went cheap, and now I'm wishing I didn't since I wrote off. I purchased all of these Items from newegg in Jan of 2010

I kept my two 22 inch widescreen monitors, my two 160 GB WD 7200 Sata II drives in RAID 0, mouse, speakers, and my case.
I upgraded from a Q6600, 4 GB DDR2 800 RAM, 8600 GT.
