A question abut warranty

I have often wondered this. When you send back a product under warranty to the place of purchase is it their responsibility to refund the cost of shipping the faulty product back to the store? After all you already paid for shipping once why should you have to pay for it again? And if it is the responsibility of the store to refund the postage and they do not are they charging out the cost of postage to the manufacturer and making a nice little profit on the side?

you mean do you have to pay for postage from the shop you bought the chip from back to intel?? i shouldnt think so it should be free,unless intel found no fault with the chip then they would probably charge you handling fee and postage back to you

any rma/postage on any component if its under warranty should be free unless no fault is found then they charge you a handling fee

Thankyou. So if I was to send a faulty component back to a Re seller. And it then went on to the manufacturer for repair or replacement. Does the seller have to not only send me the replacement but also refund the money it cost me to post back to them?

they normally email you a freepost label which you print off and attach to the parcel,thats what they do here in the uk,then they mail you the repaired/replaced component free of charge unless its tested and found not faulty,then you have to cover postage and handling fees

Now that is a good idea. I wonder why they do not do that here in Australia? They are probly supposed to and I am uncovering a massive raught of the warranty system lol.

ask the shop your returning it too if they could email you a freepost label so that you can return the chip to them
