  • Booting from a USB stick: F12 BIOS on EX58-UD5 Mobo v1.0

    Hi

Can anybody tell me whether they have successfully done this and if so how?

I made my USB stick bootable using a HP utility to transfer the system files to a FAT32 formatted 4GB

I have tried setting the first Boot priority to USB-HDD but that doesnt work

I have tried to use F12 at boot and select USB-HDD as boot drive at startup

In both cases the PC just boots from my C: drive which is an OCZ Vertex SSD drive not from the USB stick

Any feedback advice would be good

    thx

    HowardB

    many thanks

Yep: USB storage Function [enabled] in BIOS setting described as Legacy support USB Mass storage

however whilst I set the First boot device parameter to USB-HDD what I didnt do was set the disk priority to put the USB stick above the OCZ SSD drive

Did that and all is well so problem solved :) thx for the reply though
