Re: Ud3p & e8400

Your memory timings are comfortably "loose" while you're increasing cpu and memory speeds.
My Mushkin 996599 XP-1066 memory was stable up to 988MHz with 5-5-4-12 timings, where I used the 2.40B strap up to FSB = 458MHz and switched to the 2.00D strap when my FSB was higher than 470MHz. Using the B-strap in the lower/mid 400MHz range, tRD = 8 was stable and provided slightly better memory bandwidth and latency. Some setups have stability issues when using the B-strap in this range.
MCH Core = 1.26 - 1.28 with my 2x2GB setup was stable, but 1.28 "felt" better.
DRAM voltage = 2.02 worked all the way up to 1100MHz memory speeds.
YMMV ;)

It's best if you post your newest bios settings in a new post, rather than editing a previous post. This will make it easier for us to follow and see exactly what was changed.

You can post your bios template in a CODE window by selecting/highlighting the template and then click on the # icon.

Here's an example of your post #11 bios template in a CODE window:

Re: Ud3p & e8400

What speed is your memory?

Im running 450 FSB with a 2.4B strap. Memory @ 1080Mhz at 2.1v ( 2x2GB PC8500 ) with a tRead=5.

More of my info is in my signature.

If your temps are fine you can go higher.

MCH = 1.26v ( Intels max rated volatge for the P45 chipset )

Enable LLC, My E8400 E0 is at 4050Mhz @ 1.328v " LOAD " 1.35v bios

I had was up to 4250Mhz with the 2.0D strap but I lost a bit of memory bandwidth. So I dropped back to 4050Mhz with the 2.4B strap.

With the strap set at 2.0D running at 900Mhz instead of 1080Mhz. I was down in the 8GB/s range for both values.

Just my 2cps.

tRD 5? That's about 2-3 less than I have ever saw for this FSB/DDR, is that stable?

Here are my settings:

FSB 450

Memory: 5-5-5-15 (2.4B strap : 1080Mhz) DRAM: 2.09v

Blends for over 5 hours
IBT for over an hour

..and since configuring my rig. Ive logged at-least 20 hours+ playing BC2 without any freezes or BSOD. So Id say its stable :)

With your P45 chipset, tRD = 8 is as good as it gets when using the B-strap in the 450MHz range.

tRD = "Static tRead Value" in your bios and "Performance Level" in Memset.
tRRD = "Act to Act Delayed" in Memset.

Some of the values displayed in Memset show values that are approximately 7 - 8 higher than the bios values.

I settled on the previous template of 440x9 3960mhz.
I have prime blend it for over 35 hours
To go to 4.00ghz(445x9) need a couple more notches of v core BUT it isn't any quicker in real life other than a number designation of 4005 (i did prime blend it over 10 hours)

So are my settings in the bios real? Or are they being changed by the os? In the bios my tRd is currently set to 5. Are you saying its really 8? Just curious.

It is probably higher than 8 if it is left on auto. What he was saying is that tRD is not tRRD, in BIOS it is Static tRead Value.
Check with MemSet and see.

So is there not a spot in the bios to see the static tRead value? Now Im all confused LMAO!

It is under Channel A/B Timings Settings

I see, thank you for explaining that to me. I was confusing tRRD and tRD. Ill have to DL memset when I get home.

Also, if I do modify it. What would you recommend for a value in bios? Considering my FSB speed?

Thanks. ( Id just like to keep things stable, I might not adjust anything at all.. so well see )

tRD depends on both FSB and memory frequency. at your FSB/DDR 8 may be possible 9 should be stable.
