Ya, looks like a bug for sure.

If that is the latest one try an older version, also be sure you are using the latest BIOS

You mean Easytune right? I assume you are on the latest BIOS right?

I am using F7p BIOS still, but I think I am using an older easytune version. I'm using this one, if you want me to upload it let me know (EasyTune 6 B10.0420.1)

The template url at the beginning of this thread in which to get good OC settings leads nowhere. I too have a GA-X58Z-UD7, with an i7-930, but Patriot 1600 DDR3 7-7-7-24 Low Voltage XTC Platinum PC12800.

Most of the settings mentioned in the tread led to non-booting and I'm back to pretty much all on 'auto' and only moderate OC. I have no feel for those factors most likely to cause problems and those not; which to fiddle with first and those to fine-tune after. Is there some template available as a starting point?

3.2 to start; then 4.2 or some intermediate steps. I'm totally new to OC-ing. I followed the numbers for someone who started this thread - they had same processor but slightly faster memory. It didn't work and there were several numbers for the same settings, so I was confused. If I let the BIOS do it on auto, it sometimes underclocks it......not what I wanted.

if you went with a 3.3ghz clock you might have to underclock your ram slightly due to the bclk number
so 22x150=3.3ghz,memory multi of 150x10=1500mhz ram speed, dram voltage set to 1.66,cpu voltage set to normal in voltage list,qpi/vtt try with 1.31500v and set uncore freq to 21x,thats all you really need to change

P.S. if you dont want the cpu to throttle when idle then disable c1e in the bios under advanced cpu features and use high performance in win7 power saving options, its up to you,it shouldnt affect stabilty if its on or off

In case you wanted it still it's in my signature, the link from page one.

But it's just a template for you to give us your settings. If you'd like full settings from us to try let us know.

It is always difficult for advanced folks to communicate with less advanced folks, as less advanced folks don't understand all the terms and options. That said, I have my machine now stable at 3,960 but I'm sure it is not optimized. I think the problem[s] are the memory settings/timings. I have an i7 730 and OCZ 1600 low-voltage DDR3. 4.2 would be nice, if stable. Temperature has not been a problem yet. I'm not sure where to start or what to even report. The memory bus is now on 720 and I think [?] maybe it should be at 800. As to the finer memory settings I don't understand them and would like to know where to begin, of if auto setting will work. As for the 'template' you have under your signature, what processor and memory does that assume? Thanks.

NB - so maybe I would like full settings for 3.9 and 4.2

Haha, that's funny man! Don't worry, we may or may not understand it all either, but we can get you where you want to go :)

Give me your current full settings in that template, it's meant as a blank slate for you to fill in with your actual settings, so we can advise back. So any setting in it is not for you to use, just edit in your actual settings and post them here, then we'll advise back.

It didn't allow numbers to be filled in - so you want me to just fill it in in a Word file and send to you - or what?

All you do is copy the template into notepad.

Then fill in your settings, then copy/paste it back here or in your own new thread.

Pardon the naive question, but from what point do I copy the settings....in the Bios; while computer running [some are different - and some change while running]? I also find the different terms or abbreviations are used for the same setting in different places and am sometimes not sure what is being asked for, as the wording is slightly different on the sheet and the BIOS or in various programs. I no longer have the setting I did before. I made some changes and the system wouldn't boot. Now things are quite mixed-up, but running.
