  • help me make my ga-h55 usb3 build more stable

    Hi
I have suffered a lot since I built up my new pc
    it has the following specs

    mobo: ga-h55 usb3 (rev 1.0)
    processor: Intel Core I3
rams: 4GB, to sticks 2gb for each (installed in slots 1 and 3 'the white ones')

the problem is that my windows 7 x64 keeps restart from time to time, that never happen if I only used one memory stick...

I had replaced the rams with different ones two times now, and replaced the motherboard itself yesterday and the problem still exists...
I have tried a lot of things (i.e using different build of win 7, replacing the PSU)

this problem is driving me to crazy.

I don't know any about timing / clocking or voltage stuff
and all of my drivers are up to date.
and after reading a lot I have just made the following changes in the bios
    1. updated the bios using the @BIOS updater to update to f6 bios
    2. changed the qpi voltage to 1.21
    3. disabled everything related to C1 state

I don't if that will make the system run well or no, please if you have any suggestion / solution please let me know...
    thanks

is it still crshing with qpi/vtt voltage @1.21v? have you set the dram voltage according to your ram? either 1.5 or 1.66v

Re: help me make my ga-h55 usb3 build more stable

until now, no it doesn't crashed since I changed the mentioned settings
and I hope it to stay like that (wish me a good luck)

for the dram voltage, I have tried to change the default 1.5 to 1.6 before I replace the mobo but the problem was not fixed.

I don't know what the right voltage for my rams (I'm totally new to this modern h/w stuff)
both sticks are called E-Data and the previous ones was henix as I can remember

yes it seems fine and stable until now (I didn't turned off the pc since my first post).
I'll leave it on for another 2 days to see if there is any crash, and I'll post again if I get any.

Nice to see things are going better for you now, hope it stays that way!

Please DO NOT use @BIOS anymore to update your BIOS, use Qflash or DOS next time, here is a guide

Re: help me make my ga-h55 usb3 build more stable

thanks dear, and yes it went better now (thanks god)

I faced another problem (in case anyone else got it)
which was causing the OS (win 7 x64) to go to a random BSODs
some time PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA and other times SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION when I close any game like NFSU.
this problem seems to be fixed by rolling back the graphic driver (downgrade it to the one that came with the mobo cd)

and thanks a lot dear, I'll never go with @BIOS again... thanks all of you guys.

Re: help me make my ga-h55 usb3 build more stable

Nice to see you solved your BSOD issues too! And thanks for posting for others, might help someone some day.

Ya, please don't use @BIOS anymore, it's been known to kill motherboards often, so it's best to flash using Qflash or DOS from a USB Stick or floppy
