i think you can set the mb to shut down when it reaches a certain temp limit that you set in the bios

84C does sound kinda warm, what voltages are you using? What are your ambient temps?

Im not sure what my ambient temps are, usually around 20-25C i think. I just booted my computer this morning after having my window open all night and the system and cpu temps are 34C according to easytune and 39 to 40C according to coretemp. this is at idle not having done anything besides opening up my web browser.

Voltages from easytune are :
CPU PLL - 1.8000V
QPI/Vtt - 1.2350V
CPU Vcore - 1.2250V
DRAM - 1.64V
(0.75V for everything else under DRAM)

PCIE - 1.50V
QPI PLL 1.10V
IOH Core 1.10V
ICH I/O 1.50V
ICH COre 1.10V


I've always had fairly high temps since i built this machine, even after reseating the cooler a couple times. Considering other temps ive seen from benchmarks I couldnt tell if there was something wrong but I did expect a little better with an ultra 120 and the extreme mobo.

what fans are you using on the heatsink? tried with lower cpu voltage?

I can't remember exactly which fans im using, one is the original 120mm fan that comes with the ultra, and i added another 120mm with around the same specs on the opposite side. They are in a pull push configuration so that cool air is sucked into the cooler from the front of the case, and pushed out the back which is right at the exhaust fan for my case at the rear and also the fan taking in air for my psu.

I have not tried at any other voltages, since it was working and i haven't seen any issues yet.

have you set CPU Vcore @1.2250V ?? or is it set to normal setting in cpu voltage list? if not try setting it to normal andsee if its stable as it should use slightly less,if not then set back 1.2250v

i have the same Component my OS Windows 7 - 64
i try to copy the same Bios setup and as windows lowd i got Blue Screen thin PC Restart,,, i try it with 3.6Ghz and i get the same
can you please help me all i need to OC it to 3.6Ghz
