    Re: AHCI BIOS not installed

It must be the BIOS or something then, I only see this in IDE mode.

Since all is well I think you can safely ignore this!

      Re: AHCI BIOS not installed

I have HDD and DVD-ROM drive attached to Gigabyte SATA-controlled ports and DVD-RW drive attached to IHC9R-controlled port.
When I unattach DVD-RW drive, I can see "AHCI BIOS not installed".

The workstation works better if AHCI BIOS is not installed.
      1. If AHCI BIOS is installed and Net boot ROM (for discrete network card) is enabled, the computer hangs up showing "RPL-ROM-FFC 50", just before booting from a disk.
      2. When AHCI BIOS is installed, regularly error ID=9 (\device\Ide\iaStor0 timeout) is logged, and then the workstation becomes unstable. If DVD-RW is not attached, AHCI BIOS is not installed, and the error does not occur. The error occurs in Windows XP only; it does not occur in Linux.
