    When running prime I always have one core failure after a hour.

    I need to know some/all of your Actual settings, you have posted ranges for some where the actual value needs to be known to use, and you have memory multi 1:1 when we need to know the actual value you have set.

    For now, I can tell you that if you are using 2.4V MCH Core stop that NOW!!! This will Kill your NB if it has not already done physical damage, for 4GB of ram you might need 1.2-1.3 at the most but normally lower than 1.3, 2.4 is just WAY TOO MUCH, so I hope that is a typo.

    Also can you please tell me your BIOS version and provide a link to your memory or the model #

        Ahh ok, thanks!

        I needed to know what memory multiplier you are using, 1:1 is not a Gigabyte BIOS option, that would be 2.00B or 2.00D

              Thanks for trying to help. I tried all your setting and everything I could think of, however I think the CPU is holding me back with core failure in prime95 in 1-3 hours.

                Then you probably need more Vcore, give me your current full settings and I will advise back.

                  This is what I tired, when I increase Vcore prime 95 faild faster in 10 minutes.

                    Try raising PCIE to 101-103 for a quick test.

                    You may just need to adjust your MCH Ref is all, if you want to try it try using .68-.74 MCH Ref. To do that set Vtt to 1.20, then adjust MCH Ref, then raise Vtt back to 1.28-1.34 and see how things go, try this with .68-.74 MCH Ref and a few Vtt amounts for each one in between

                      Well I tried those setting and I could not get it prime stable. I lowered the fSB to 448 with 8.5 multiplier and it was prime 95 stable blend. Then to check to see if it's my board causing the problem I set the multiplier to 8 and the FSB 471 at all the same settings and prime failed so I know it's the board that is the problem.

                        It's a bit naive to think that just changing the FSB with lower multiplier is enough, but without the settings and your setup components there's not much to be said.
                        You are OCing a quad on an "L" board, that might be a problem.

                          I changed the fsb higher with a lower multiplier 3.8 GHz and it failed, I tried lower fsb with the highest multiplier at 3.8 GHz and it passed 24 hour prime 95 stable. Its not the VRM on the "L" board, it's the p 45 chipset. If I had a X48 chipset things would be different.

                          Here are the setting I used that failed, i used the same settings that passed 3.8 Ghz just lowered the multiplier

                            Did you adjust MCH Reference as Lsdmeasap explained?
                            Try also adjusting CPU Reference the same way, but try higher first, the default is 0.76v @ 1.2v VTT.
                            And maybe 1.28-1.3v MCH Core.

                              Its not the 45 chipset as such.x 48 doesnt allways clock that well.
                              Its getting the right settings for your components to work together above 450/1800fsb.
                              That and a memory bandwidth limit of around 10 Gb/s approx for us 775 intel mboard people at least.latency maybe 60ns or so but trying for bandwidth above 10gb/s on read isnt likely to work.

                              Any settings you apply that try and exceed that seem(in general) to fail.

                              Id link my own full bios settings, but in and around 500fsb for a quad there are so many variables like memory type/power supply loading/mch cooling/2 gx cards running thru mch or not etc that one persons settings may not work for u.
                              You can find em tho on older posts of mine.

                              Id check out the member "conners" and his quest for 500(2000) fsb thread on his 9550

                              There should be loads of links from that .

                              There is also another member looking for 4.2 on his 9550 on this page.
                              I dont have all the settings i tried between 450 and 500 fsb or even my 525 "validations" anymore
                              I do have my 490 and 500 profiles saved and a backup 450 one which is the last point I could use my memory at 4-4-4-12 timings with pl7.(on 2:00D multiplier)
