  • EP45-UD3p rev 1.6 2 short beeps at POST.

Hello, as stated in the title, i get 2 short beeps at the POST. No problems loading up to OS (Win7 Pro x64.) This problem has existed since I built the system. I assumed it was normal for this board until the other day when I was browsing though the manual; it indicates that this is a CMOS setting error. The Bios is flashed to the latest version (as of yesterday.) My hardware specs are as follows
    EP45-UD3p rev 1.6
    Intel E8400
    4Gb OCZ at 800MHz(stock speed) at 2.1V
    Antec 550W PSU
    NVidia 9800gt

I have been struggling to get the system to run stable also from day one, and I am now wondering if this has not been my issue all along. I get random hard freezes under the OS. No BSOD. Requires a hard reboot to recover.

I am currently running a slight overclock in hopes of finding something that will run stable. So far it is no worse than before.

Thanks for the help, let me know if any more information is needed.

Re: EP45-UD3p rev 1.6 2 short beeps at POST.

Immediately after your bios flash, did you immediately load optimized bios settings, save settings and reboot to then enter your bios settings?
If you enter the bios and the MIT panel, do you see a red warning box?

We can best help you if you'll provide detailed information by following steps 1 - 4 in this post.
Please use the bios template in this post, where you fill in your current bios settings.
The screen-shot in step 4 will help us confirm your posted bios settings.

      +1 ^^

Sounds like you do not have proper settings applied or have not setup the BIOS correctly for your hardware
