    Hello,
I have problem with this mobo.
Everytime i restart my computer, it will not show post. after clear cmos or take out the ram, it will enter bios. but if reset the pc, it will not show bios again

    My specs:
    AMD Athlon II X2 245
    1 X Corsair RAM 2gb DDR3 1333 vs2gb1333d3
    Western Digital 640 Gb Green

Have tried the sticky for Gigabyte mobo problem and updated the BIOS

If i used single channel by placing in slot 1 and 3 or 2 and 4, there is no prob, able to boot and restart.
However , If i placed in slot 1 and 2 or 3 and 4, enabling the dual channel will boot to windows and after restart, no post. in this matter, i have to reseat the ram to show post.

    it is a new built.

    Any advice?

    Thank you

I don't know AMD Setups very well you will need to wait for help from Artdrivers he is our AMD guy.

Are you setting unganged or ganged when you try dual channel? Try both ways and see if both act the same, also test each slot one by one to be sure they all work

        Hi ryuken:

What BIOS ( F1 through F5 and motherboard GA-MA785GMT-US2H revision (rev. 1.0, rev. 1.1 rev. 3.3) do you have?
If i used single channel by placing in slot 1 and 3 or 2 and 4, there is no prob, able to boot and restart.

Go into BIOS and Load optimized defaults.
The AMD AthlonII X2 has a ↓DDR1066Mhz↓ 533 MHz Memory controller.
        AMD Athlon II X2 245 - ADX245OCK23GQ (ADX245OCGQBOX)
We have seen some AMD AthlonII X2 cpu's have a problem with the dual channel mode. You will want to make sure it is the CPU though.

        Hi Kjrad:
tried to set it as dual channel (ganged) or single channel (unganged)
AMD's Ganged and unganged are both dual channel. I suggest Unganged for multi cores. This enables the CPU to pull info from both sticks simultaneously. Ganged is basically for single core applications. You may want to go into BIOS and Load Optimized Defaults. Auto settings will adjust Memory voltage (1.8v) and timmings. This happens when you load optimized defaults. If you raise the memory frequency or timings. You must raise the memory voltage as well.
This is an estimate will need actual Kingston part number to set memory to manufacturers specificationsTiming Reference: 800MHz 5-5-5-15-2T at +1.9V / 800MHz 4-4-4-12 at +2.0V
Also please state Bios and motherboard revision number.
We have seen some AMD Athlon X2 have a problem with the dual channel mode. You will want to make sure it is the CPU though.
Try that and let us know how it goes.

          Re: Gigabyte GA-MA785GMT-US2H

          Gigabyte GA-MA785GM-US2H
          (rev. 1.0)

          (F11 latest bios 05/17/2010)

Kingston Part Number KVR800D2/2GR it also says 1.8 v so I guess I will use the specs for the 1.8 V

PS: on a similar post on Kingston`s support forum they are suggesting to reduce the frequency of the ram ( from 400 to 333 ) the minimum for my board is 400 (bios)

          thanks

I will try these things and let you know
