    Re: Gigabyte X58A-UD3R 2.0

The 980x that was in the UD7 is now in the UD3R and I took the battery out, cleared the CMOS overnight etc and nothing helped.

It was really strange because I opened the case to switch my 480s around and that's all I did, just switched them around and when I turned the machine back on, I got the code 88.

Not sure what happened but it really sucks :(

Well it's good to hear the CPU is ok at least.

Did you try it with one card, or a totally different GFX card to be sure those were not causing the issues?

If you want I can PM you info on shorting the main BIOS to see if that will help, just had to do this myself this morning due to a possible bad BIOS sent to me. And I had to use a different method than the normal one, if you know the normal one that one failed for me on UD7

Tried it and no dice :(

The UD7 seems to have had a serious stroke and is DNR at this point.

I really don't understand what happened but such is life.

                  Re: Gigabyte X58A-UD3R 2.0

Ahh so no luck with what I sent you?

You did hold it past the second reboot right?

Just checking, sorry to hear if it didn't help!

RMA is fairly quick, but not sure where you are so it might not be as fast as what I am used to seeing

Yah I tried it several times :(

Thanks for trying at any rate. It was something I hadn't done so it was worth a shot :)

                        Re: Gigabyte X58A-UD3R 2.0

In Canada, I'm told it can take up to a month but it's not a big deal as I have the UD3R which will do until I get the UD7 back.

Ahh cool, well you will be dealing with the California office, same as I am used to so RMA should only take 2 weeks or so.

Of course you do then have to wait a bit longer due to the US/CA mail relations, always seems to take a bit longer than anywhere else for me to get mail from CA (Even Russia or Germany gets to me quicker).

So ya, 3-4 weeks sounds about right to me due to the mail issues.

Good luck on a speedy RMA, at least you have the UD3R to use while you wait!

                            Indeed :)

The UD3R is working fine (minus the KB issue, which isn't really an issue as I have a PS2 KB).

Thanks for all your help mate :D
