other than emailing gigabyte and explaining your situation i dont know what else you can do,if they tested it and found it working then they would have used different ram/psu to you so that would be a good place to start i certainly wouldnt give up on getting it working,you can always buy cheaper dual channel ram and a cheap 920 C0 chip off ebay

thats another problem. i did email customer service and asked them what hardware they used to test and about incompatabilities and they told me to call the polite but useless indian tech support team. its like they have me running in circles.

Thanks Wazza300, I will try the power supply on another comp but I feel its probably the mobo, hopefully they'll let me do a straight exchange this morning - and hopefully that fixes it.

So it was indeed a bung board. Wasted 4 hours scratching my head, started an internet flame war and then had to wait 4 days for a replacement.
Haven't had an issue since and really happy with the board now its working.
