Re: Settings for 3.8GHz overclock: i7-920, Gigabyte EX58-UD5 with latest F12 BIOS
Thankyou so much for the settings as posted by wazza300. So far it runs prime95 for over an hour without a BSOD and temps in the low 60C range. I am running 12GB of RAM so I wonder whether I do need to up the qpi/vtt to 1.4V? The 1.4V range is coloured differently in the settings --- anything I should be cautious about?
Also I have had a painful reboot problem from day one. On restart the PC boots nearly fine with the bios settings but on cold boot I get OC/Voltage warnings and it defaults back to 2.8ghz/1066mhz ram etc. Everytime I must enter the bios and reload the profile. Any idea why this is so?
Great thread and much appreciated.
Update: too confident about the prime95 test. BSOD crash 0x0000012 about an hour into it - I will up the qpi/vtt :)
