  • Needed, a graphic card bios update

    Hi,
My GA-P43-ES3g graphic card carries a problem which an update for its graphic card may solve. I wrote the following message to NVIDIA support:

"My system includes the following componenet:

    Gigabyte GA-P43-ES3G intel P43
    Intel Core 2 Duo E7500 3.0GHz
    Samsung 1TB 32 MB 7200RPM
    Seasonic SS-500ET Active PFC
    Transcend 2GB DDR2 800
    Samsung DVD-RW SH-S223F x22
    Gainward 9500GT 512MB GDDR2

It's a dual boot system, win7 and winxp pro (sp3). Win7 is the default os.

It is connected both to a monitor (Samsung SyncMaster 940bw) and an LG tv set.

My problem relates to the TV connection.

When I start my pc while TV cable is plugged to the computer, I see notrhing on my SyncMaster monitor until win7 starts. The Post phase and the os selection menu aren't seen on the monitor. (I can see it all on my tv). When win7 starts, the system function flawless.

When I start my pc while TV cable is unplugged to the computer, the system functions flawless, first Post messages, then os selection menu and then the aelected os, be it win7 or winxp.

The pc was returned to the store and its mb replaced. I tried it on an alternative monitor. None of these replacements changed anything, the same strange behavior.

    What's wrong??
    "

The support session ended with the following instruction:

"In order to get updated BIOS for graphics card please contact graphics card manufacturer because graphics card manufacturer knows the updated BIOS of graphics driver and they will be able to install that update.

The reason I asked you to contact graphics card manufacturer because NVIDIA does not manufacture the complete graphics card.

NVIDIA is the market leader in Graphics and motherboard chipset solutions. We manufacture the base chipsets i.e. the Graphics Processing Units (GPUs), which is then sold to our partner companies like BFG, XFX, EVGA and PNY etc and to some OEMs like Dell, HP, IBM and Acer etc. These manufacturers custom design the graphics cards/ motherboard and different packages using our chipset technology.

If you are unsure about the name of the manufacturer, please have a look at any of the following places.

    1. The sticker on the fan/heat sinks of the graphics card.
    2. The driver CD that came with the graphics card.
    3. The box in which the graphics card came in.
    4. The graphic card Vendor.
    5. If you have received the card from an OEM, then the computer manufacturer.

Re: Needed, a graphic card bios update

What do you mean Gigabyte graphics?

Your card is a Gainward 9500GT? You would need to contact Gainward, as I see they only offer driver downloads and no BIOSes
    Gainward

You could however install that expertool and see if it has any BIOS update functions
