Help with flashing Gigabyte's graphic card.

Hello

I'm looking for someone who can explain, in a simple manner, the logic/structure of choosing correct bios-file for graphiccards from Gigabyte's site.

Here's the situation:
I went to Gigabyte's site to eventually download a newer version for my 8800GT, GV-NX88T512HP - TYPE B, but I couldn't reach any conclusion by the poor information given there.
Tried to figure it out by looking at my BIOS version, in this case 62.92.1F.00.08, reported thru GPU-Z.
By using that info I found three potential candidates but at this moment the next obstacle arises. Apparently I'm supposed to know the name of the memorychip manufacturer. I don't. Who does? Hopefully You.

So, after countless of hours searching the net and gigabyte's site, european, asian and northamerican as well, I still havent't found anything to help me choose, hence this post.
Would be real nice if some kind soul can enlight me in this matter.

PS. Note for Gigabyte: You guys might wanna swing by Asus site, when it comes to support in this matter. I don't say this in a harsh way, just a kind hint for providing better service in the future and clearer instructions for flashing. Cheers!

why do you want to flash the bios? its more risky with gpu's than mb's,did you also look on techpowerups bios database??

You will need to choose it from Gigabytes list. GIGABYTE - Support&Download - Graphics Accelerator - BIOS
Choose the latest bios. (It is F20) Download and save (F20). You can also download and Use the @bios VGA utility there. Be sure to follow their instructions.

So you say, in a way, it doesn't matter which file I get even that Gigabyte specifies at each diffrent file version, "Only for (name of memory manufacturer)"?

Further on, the "Source BIOS", it doesn't have to match my current version either because the F20-file doesn't, am I right?

Oh no I see what your saying now.
You are right my bad you need to know what memory version you have. It will be your responsibility to determine what the memory is on your card. Samsung or Qimonda. This is marked on the memory chips. This would require you to remove the video card and physically look. What I noticed is if you have F2 then you may flash to F3. If you have F10 you may flash to F11. F5 and F20 will not work they don't match. You just need to find the current bios version (F2 or F10). It is based on the current version you now have. Haven't got the time to post until now, but now I think I got the hang of it, thanks to artdrivers kind help.

I've checked the card and found a bunch of Samsung chip round the GPU.
By logic given, I figure that F11 is the version for my card. Heck, it was just one left to choose from, after the reduction, matching BIOS version and chip manufacturer.

Good luck with your flash, keep a spare PCIE card or PCI Card handy in case something goes wrong, that way you can use it to flash back to an older BIOS
