Hello everyone my first build

Hello everyone. This is my first build. I got everything to gether go to boot my computer and I get C1 - b8 or 68 in the debug led. It cycles from C1 to b8 or 68 over and over. I have looked and looked and I cant find any information on this. The gigabyte manual has debug codes in it but not that one. I have seen other websites with bebug codes and no luck there either. I have taken the ram out put 1 stick in, then 2 and no luck. I saw on other forum to try that. Everything seems to be working.

c1 is a ram error,is that a 980x six core chip???? if so you will need to take your mb and the latest bios on a usb stick to a local pc store or from where you purchased mb/chip from and ask if they can flash your bios to the latest one that supports the new six core chip,the bios that shipped with your mb wont support the 980x chip ive seen two users so far that have had this problem.....alls well after updating the bios but to do that you will need to take to the store or borrow a 920 chip

Yea its the 980x. I got someone that will flash it for me. I moved the memory around some more and I get the C1 code all the time now. Do i need to update the bios first or is the memory bad?

its not your ram thats causing it, if you havnt updated the bios to the latest one that supports your 980x then no matter what you do it wont work untill you do...that bios that came with your mb will be outdated by now and will only support a 920 chip..that why the mb is cycling because it cant recognise your six core chip.update bios first then go from there but it should work after bios update

68/b8 means you have an incompatible BIOS for the 980X, debug list linked in my signature

Get the BIOS flashed and see if any other issues remain, troubleshooting anything else before that is unnecessary
