Please provide more information on your sys tem, add your sustem specs to your signature, MB(+revision), CPU, RAM(link to specification, amount), etc.
For now try to use just one memory stick(if you are using 2 or more) and clear CMOS for 30 minutes as explained in the second part of this post. Try one stick in any of the slots (also different sticks)

Re: gigabyte p43 e3sg new build problem

hi again, have tried the above but is still the same... also ive noticed the atx 12v 4 pin block cable is not on the power supply.... is it the cpu1 or cpu2 that plugs into the atx 12v on the motherboard ?

Re: gigabyte p43 e3sg new build problem

The ATX_12V is a must, yes it's the CPU power.
I see in the PSU specs it has 1 x 4+4 pin CPU, you should be able yo split it.

Re: gigabyte p43 e3sg new build problem

            + 1 ^^

You MUST connect the ATX 12V CPU Cable, if your PSU only has 4 pin, or board only allows 4 pin, then plug in the CPU 1 cable. Don't worry, it will only fit one way and only one of the plugs will go into the slot so you cannot get it wrong.

Just be sure you use one labeled CPU and not GFX and you will be fine

Let us know what you find.

I'd test your system with different memory first if you can

Re: gigabyte p43 e3sg new build problem

Try minimal boot, one memory stick, disconnect all devices and front panel cables (except power), make sure all power cables and the video card are seated properly, try the one stick in different slots.
If you have a USB keyboard try connecting it to the PS/2 via adapter if you have one.
If that doesn't help take the board out of the case and try it on a piece of cardboard (it's box would be good)

Re: gigabyte p43 e3sg new build problem

                        Any luck yet?

If not please do as Chike mentioned above and get the board out of the case and OFF the motherboard tray and try starting it on a box or wooden table. This will help rule out shorts as an issue.

Try with only one stick of memory, either brand, in slot #1

Sorry to hear, but glad you found the problem!

Let us know how your Intel RMA goes, people always ask about the whole process and how it is, so I would be happy to hear about your experience with them.

                              Thanks
