Hi just bought the GA ex58 UD5 and bloomfield intel i7 930 with OCZ Gold 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C8 (1600MHz) Tri-Channel with ecool water cooler and geforce xfx 260 GTX and asuss Geforce 250 SLI SB xterm tat fed XF-i sound card,
I love to overclock the beast and downloaded the easy tune 6 and just returns error and ask to dl it again. I would like to learn more about overclocking plz help.

try this link for easytune http://asia.giga-byte.com/FileList/U...ls_gbt_et6.exe please dont use it to overclock with as it will freeze your pc,do all overclocking in the bios,look at my overclock template in sig for 3.8ghz,just set your ram timings and speed according to what ram you have, you might need these also to monitor core temps and memory ect

You have to use the latest BIOS to use easytune as well. Please DO NOT flash your BIOS with @BIOS.

Use Qflash or DOS, here is a guide

Latest Easytunes have not been working for me, so I have been using an older version for a long time. I uploaded it here in case you find you need to use it.

Overclocking should really be done in the BIOS, but if you do not want to do that you don't have to, it's just best to do it that way.

If you want to and or start, and need help let us know. Give us your full current settings you are trying in a template (Link in my signature).

I did as you instructed in the file and had a few BFBC2 game and just now got a blue screen of death the memory was running at 1800 so iturn it down to 1440 and will later try again. otherwise i did as the file you sent me and the memory is a ocz gold 12800.

ok well you can try with 1.34000 qpi voltage and ram at 1600mhz,every board/cpu/ram will be slightly different so you might need to tweak voltages slightly.if your ram is 1600mhz you wont run it at 1800mhz

hi thanks for your help, i am running it at 3.96 at a mo but the mem is still at 1440 i think. I did push the multiplier to 22 do i need to up the voltage for the cpu to keep it stable. The memory section little hard for me please guide me on that.

you wont need to increase voltage unless its unstable,to use 1600mhz you need to comedown on your bclk and clock to 3.6ghz instead or clock high on cpu like you have done but that means underclocking your ram to 1440mhz

just now ran prime and it bluescreen me so i turned down back to 20. I did the multi to 21 but post in the startup showed 22x180 why is that. the ram is at 1440 do i need to change that.

try 160x22 bclk,set ram multi to give you 1600mhz,set cpu v to normal setting,dram to 1.66 and qpi v to 1.320000 i know its only 3.6ghz but it will let you use all your ram speed try that first then you can go for 3.8ghz+ once its stable

I did and getting 3.52hz and the ram is 1250 now did you mean qpi vtt that is what i
see there and dram is pink at 1.66 is that ok. qpi vtt is 1.31 didnt have 1.32 next one is 1.33 let me know why the ram is lower now.

what cpu multi did you use 22x? ive just checked its 19x200bclk for 3.8ghz,set ram to give you 1600mhz and keep all voltages the same,if you use 22x cpu then youll need to set bclk to 155 or 154 for 3.4ghz and 1600mhz if you use any other combo then youll have to underclock your ram slightly with a 22x multiplier

Even CPU multi's on i7's are often problematic, needing more voltages than odd to get stable and sometimes do not work very well at all.

I suggest you stick with odd CPU multi's, should have much better luck.
