Im hoping i can get some advice in regards to my oc system which i built a week ago. Im good with pcs but new to overclocking so please bear with me.
My specs are
UD7 Mobo
i7 930
Corsair 6gb XMS3 (9-9-9-24)
HX1000w PSU
HD 5970
Corsair 256GB C300 SSD
My problem currently is that even though im stable in prime95 (yes my settings could prob be improved quite alot) when i boot the pc up i will
A. Get no POST bios beep (when overclocked)
B. 50% of the time will get the "failed overclock red warning screen" and will have to enter bios, f10... then boot into windows
Ive not had any probs with prime95 at my current settings though know i still havent done half enough settings otherwise id be booting without any warning screens 100% of the time and would have the bios beep
My current settings:
CPU CLOCK RATIO [20]
QPI CLOCK RATIO [AUTO]
BCLK FREQUENCY [200]
PERFORMANCE ENHANCE [TURBO]
EXTREME MEMORY PROFILE XMP [DISABLED]
SYSTEM MEMORY MULTIPLIER (SPD) [AUTO] Did try at 2:8, reverted to auto for now
Advanced CPU Features:
INTEL TURBO BOOST [DISABLED]
CPU CORES ENABLED [ALL]
CPU MULTI-THREADING [ENABLED]
CPU ENHANCED HALT (C1E) [ENABLED]
C3/C6/C7 STATE SUPPORT [DISABLED]
CPU THERMAL MONITOR [ENABLED]
CPU EIST FUNCTION [ENABLED]
BI-DIRECTONIAL PROCHOT [ENABLED]
VIRTULIZATION TECHNOLOGY [ENABLED]
CPU VCORE [1.30000V]
QPI/VTT [1.315V] (set to auto i can pass prime95 no probs, set to 1.315v i get BSOD)
DRAM VOLTAGE [1.64V] (Cant select 1.65v)
Also im a bit confused regarding my RAM latency settings. My corsair ram is rated at 9-9-9-24 but in bios its showing 8-8-8-20? If i look at CPU-Z it shows 9-9-9-24??
Am confused to if i change the RAM settings manually in bios or ifs actually setup correctly.
Everything else is left on Auto, QPI was also on auto till today though has made no difference from what i can see.
Any advice/help appreciated.
