Re: GA-X58A-UD5 & i7 930 @ 4.41GHz Memory Help

you should have stopped it at 80c but nevermind, did you use dvid voltage or just leave it on normal? you might need to drop your overclock slightly if temps are getting too high

try with the same settings but set dvid to -0.0200v,maybe you can lower cpu voltage at load a little bit by setting it at -0.0200v

EDIT: just want to add that its IMPORTANT you dont let core temp go past 80c,stop the test or encoding if it reaches 80c

      Re: GA-X58A-UD5 & i7 930 @ 4.41GHz Memory Help

I ended up moving my frequency to 185, which put me @ 3.87 GHz w/ the 21X multiplier. This keeps my temp at a cool-ish 77 degrees.

I also forgot to mention I'm running a GeForce 9800 GTX video card, though I assume all my PCI-E settings are good to run with this.

Thanks again for your help, wazza, very kind of you. Let me know if there is anything else I should be aware of.

yes all pci-e should be fine on auto,i dont know how well that cooler performs, you might need a higher end cooler to achieve 4ghz idk,77c is fine for 3.87ghz though

what cpu voltages and dvid voltages did you end up using?

You should be able to get 4Ghz easy, sounds like that isn't a very good cooler possibly?
