  • CMOS Power Error

    Hello,
I'm trying to overclock a Pentium E6300 stock is 2.8GHz on a GA-EP45-UD3P board. I can get the CPU to 3.4GHz @ 400x8.5 but if the RAM is overclocked no matter what my settings are I get a cmos power error post code. The RAM is OCZ Reaper 1066 2x2 Gb. Is the error a PSU issue or a voltage issue being to high or to low on the board the manual only states "Power Error". Thanks in advanced for any advice.

    Re: CMOS Power Error

Follow steps 1 - 4 in this post to provide needed hardware details and bios settings information.
Verify that your current bios version fully supports your E6300 (R0) cpu.
Your mobo version number is in the lower rear corner, just above the mounting hole.

      Re: CMOS Power Error

      Hey thanks for the reply,
Its rev. 1.6 board and yes it dose support the E6300 (R0) I had to many setting set to default (auto) and was overvolting the RAM to much, that must be what "Power Error" means. Constant Beep, this isn't the CPU I'm currently running on the board,- a friend of mine was having problems with the same board but a rev 1.1 the link you provided was a big help Thank again.
