Re: I can't install Windows XP from booting CD/DVD

It may be a setting in your BIOS. Place Windows XP CD into CD drive.
    Try clearing CMOS.
    Load optimized defaults.
Boot from CD/DVD from F12 option or go into BIOS and set first boot to DVD.
    Advanced BIOS Features
Hard Disk Boot Priority [Press Enter]
    First Boot Device [Floppy]
    Second Boot Device [CDROM]
    Third Boot Device [Hard Disk]
    Now save and exit.
Try this and let us know.

Re: I can't install Windows XP from booting CD/DVD

      Thanks artdrivers...
But i try load optimized default and then
the boot drives order like you say and don't work.
In another forum i read about 2 strange point

      1) Try to disable the USB Keyboard support from BIOS
      and
      2) A conflict IDE master and SATA port 0, and a
      cableselect issues.

the point 1 need to try in a moment and may be
change the SATA port to SATA4 (an example)

The strange case is with Win XP, because i can boot
from CD/DVD with HIRENS BOOT CD disk.

      Any suggestion, please tell me.
      Thanks again men.

Hi Mauro have you tried cleaning the XP CD an looking for scratches on it. This is a common problem cuz CD s get scratched very easily. Or get some other material that prevents CD from being read by your Drive. Also try creating a slipstreamed disc on another PC with .NET installed and Nlite
nLite - Deployment Tool for the bootable Unattended Windows installation
We also have no idea what your system Specs are like MOBO model CPU power supply etc...

Re: I can't install Windows XP from booting CD/DVD

Here is a guide to creating a Nlite disc
[GUIDE] Creating The Ultimate Windows XP Installation CD/DVD, with nLite 1.4 Final - Overclockers Forums

One other thing came to mind is that some board require the floppy be set as first boot device, even if they will not be used. The CD/DVD should be set as next boot device then the hard drive. I know it sounds wierd but this procedure was required in order to start windows XP on a old Presario S4210NX. If you have it there is a othere option to choose boot order from the f12 key i believe (gigabyte).
