  • RMA Procedure?

Mr. Tweak, please don't ban me from the forum because of this post -- I'm not complaining about my motherboard or the RMA process.

I hate to keep bothering you guys and gals with administrative problems, but Gigabyte's RMA website is currently experiencing problems, and, to my surprise, the procedure for sending in a motherboard once one has received a RMA# can't be found anywhere else on the entire web.

So here I am with a RMA# and I've pulled the defective motherboard out of my PC. I remember enough that motherboards with 775 sockets being sent in have to have a CPU socket cover installed. But I can't remember any other details/requirements for sending in a RMA'ed item. Today is the second day that I haven't been able to get onto the RMA website, and each day that passes shrinks my RMA's 30-day window by 1 day. Does anyone have a copy of the RMA procedures that they could share with me?

    Thanks.

    Re: RMA Procedure?

you have to return it in all its packaging, cables, manual,cd ect.are you rma'ing direct to gigabyte or through the store where you purchased it? if through the store try contacting them,if through gigabyte you need to write there address on the package and clearly write the rma number on the front of it

      Re: RMA Procedure?

You could look on the last page of your motherboard manual for Gigabytes contact information. They also have some phone numbers in there.

        Re: RMA Procedure?

Thanks for the feedback, warren300 and artdrivers. I was able to access Gigabyte's RMA portal yesterday, 3/1/10 and copied their full policy statement into a Word document.

To save any poor souls who may find themselves in my situation in the future, I've attached their full RMA procedure statement with this reply.

My "old" motherboard is on its way to Gigabyte, hopefully for repair or replacement, and my "new" motherboard arrived from Newegg yesterday as well.

Thank goodness for this forum; it has been a great help and gives me a sense of security when poking around inside the box, knowing that there are experts just a post away.
