i7 930 not recognised?

I've just build a new system with an i7 930 and X58A-UD5. BIOS F4.

When the bios loads it reports and i7 CPU running at 2000Ghz and defaults to a x15 multiplier. If I enter the MIT section and load optimized defaults it set the correct x21 multiplier.

Is the BIOS/MB not recognising the CPU correctly?

it will lower the cpu multi automatically if idle,when under load the multi will change to 21x its quite normal

Its not functioning normally.

The mutli is set solid at x15 after CMOS reset. Loading up LinX does nothing to the multi. It remains at x15.

Hitting optimized defaults sets the multi to the i7 930 defult of x21 in BIOS and the CPU functions correctly after that. Loading it results in x22 and at idle its x18 measured with CPUz.

I'm assuming this isn't normal behaviour and the MB should recognise the CPU or read its default setting from somewhere.

Any other X58A-UD5 owners out there running a 930 that can advise if this is happening to them?
