  • GIGABYTE onboard lan glitch

    GA-MA790XT-UD4P v1 F7bios
    7 premium 64 // Seagate 500g HD
    AMD 955 BE @3.2 // 4gigs SuperTalent DDR3 1333
    EVGA 8800 GTS 640mb // LG 22"
    X-FI Gamer // Logitech X-540 5.1
CoolerMaster HAF 932 case & V8 CPU cooler
    650w Spire PSU

Realtek RTL8168D/8111D Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.20)

My problem is, almost everytime i alter the bios and boot back into windows theres a network icon with a big red X waiting for me. It did the same shlt in Vista prem 64 too.

When i use windows troubleshoot to repair it says "Please plug ethernet cable into the network adapter" wtf??? tried to repair with the latest Realtek drivers from the Gigabyte site and still no internets.

The only way im able to fix the problem is. go into my devices and uninstall the network device with box checked to delete drivers and software. then scan for changes and let M$ install the driver from 5-14-09. Driver version 7.2.1127.2008 This shlt is getting really annoying.

Why is the onboard lan losing connection?
How can i keep this from happening again?
is this the official GIGABYTE forums?

You could try the latest driver from Realtek, Realtek (be patient, the site is really slow)

      Re: GIGABYTE onboard lan glitch

I installed the W7 driver from the link u posted. i hope it works.

usually if my pc blue screens or doesnt boot, thats when the lan takes a dump.

        Re: GIGABYTE onboard lan glitch

Why are you getting blue screens? Your system is not stable. I'd concentrate on that first then the LAN.
