    GA-X58A-UD7 - F4
    i7 920 d0 no overclock stock 133

    ram is : CMG6GX3M3A1600C7 Newegg.com - CORSAIR DOMINATOR-GT 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMG6GX3M3A1600C7 - Desktop Memory
    Manuf specs 7-7-7-20 @ 1.65v

I manually set timings, also set ddr voltage in bios to 1.64 and 1.66, tried both

-ram multi 12 (1600) I get prime95 errors on auto qpi/vtt voltage so I tried 1.275 and still got errors then tried 1.355 errors also. Also got a BSOD with the settings last night.

    -ram multi 8 (1066) I ram prime95 fine for about 30min with no errors @ 1.355qpi

right now I turned on XMP profile (7-7-7-20 1.65v 1.35QPI it is showing in bios) 1 stick of ram and am currently runnings memtest86 right now to see if it shows anything will probably run it for a few hours.

any other ideas? maybe time to RMA?
or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks for the help fellas Ill be back in a few

you shouldnt need that much qpi voltage at stock clocks,i only use 1.300000 with 3.8 overclock and 1800mhz ram,try with ram multi at 12,then set the uncore freq multi to 24,set system performance enhance to standard, set manual timings 7-7-7-20 command rate 1T qpi voltage 1.320000 and ram voltage 1.66 and see if you have any luck, you could also try looser timings like 7-7-7-24-1T or 8-8-8-20-1T,but really they should run according to spec if not i would rma for another batch

Re: ram problems I think -ud7-corsair

Well I think I have found the problem.

      I cannot run 1T on this ram at 7-7-7-20 @ 1600 prime95 errors within 30sec

if I just change it to 2T everything seems solid prime95 no error 15min

is there really a big performance difference? I mean Im reading about some cheaper corsair ram that has same specs but runs 1T.

but also if I goto the corsair website and look for compatability the X58a-ud7 is not listed but the x58-extreme lists:
Gigabyte GA-EX58-Extreme Memory Upgrades - Guaranteed Compatible Memory for your Gigabyte GA-EX58-Extreme from Corsair
      no memory supported at 1T?

you wont notice the difference from 1T to 2T timings, but it should run at 1t without errors, its up to you whether you want to try and exchange it for another brand or maybe the same but a different batch, also what bios are you using? as latest bios will have memory fixes

i would wait till newer bios's come out you might run your ram at spec then, you usually have a lifetime warranty with ram anyway so you can always return it
