Could you provite a link to your ram specs, manufacturar site preferrably, or at least model number.
I would start by running memtest86 for 6+ passes on each stick, one in any of the slots.
Large and/or high speed memory configurations usually require more MCH Core.
8GB may be a bit difficult to set, 4GB should be doable.
Begin by loading BIOS optimized defaults, save & reboot, enter BIOS and make any changes you have applied before like disk boot order etc.
For 2x2GB in dual channel mode (slots 1 & 3 or 2 & 4) try the following changes in MIT(after optimized defaults were applied)
    Code:
    Performance Enhance ------------------- : [Standard]
Extreme Memory Profile --- (X.M.P.) --- : [Disabled] << ignore if not available

    MCH Core ---------------- 1.100V ------ : [1.15] << try 1.2 if this is not enough
Not sure what MCH Core options your board has, can you list them?

memtest86+ may be download from http://forums.tweaktown.com/f69/late...y-tools-30530/
