  • ga-p35 ds3l Mem Problems

    Hi.

I have read through the stickies and other posts but still not coming right, i have a ga-p35 ds3l, with transcend axeram 100 oc 8Gig. when i put all 4 sticks in my pc really freaks out, i have checked the memory timing sand the voltage supplied to them, it was wrong but is set to 1.93V +0.1V bump the timings are 5-5-5-15. when i take 2 sticks out in any position it works properly...
Can anybody help Pleeese really frustrating!!

    Re: ga-p35 ds3l Mem Problems

You mean you have 1000 MHz RAM and you're trying to run it at that speed?

When using 4 sticks you never achieve the same speeds as you do when using only 2. 4 sticks cause more load on the northbridge. You can try increasing the MCH voltage by 0.1-0.2V and see if that helps, or lower the timings further.
Have you tried running it at 800 MHz and see if that works?

Unless you're overclocking and need to run the RAM at 1000MHz you might as well run it at 800MHz as you're not gonna notice any performance difference anyway.

hehe oops typo no the ram comes out at 1066. will it be better if i just use 2 rather than 4 sticks in the board, its not like i need 8gig of ram at his point. im running 7 ultimate 64bit..

4GB of memory is sufficient for nearly all setups.
8GB is needed when running VMWare.
